Five days after winning the 2025 OSAA Class 6A state championship, three of Lake Oswego's brightest stars, LaMarcus Bell, Hudson Kurland, and Sam Vyhlidal, officially sign to their new homes to continue their football journeys at the collegiate level. The signings that took place on Wednesday at Lake Oswego High School mark the culmination of an unforgettable season.
Lamarcus Bell - Utah
LaMarcus Bell, the reigning Gatorade Player of the Year in the state of Oregon in 2024, signed with the Utes on Wednesday after a dominant senior campaign with the Lakers. The three-star, according to 247 Sports, saw a late push from the hometown Ducks in his recruitment process but decided to stay loyal to the Utes in the end.

Hudson Kurland - Washington State
Kurland, the 6'4" three-star quarterback out of Lake Oswego, signed with the Cougs on Wednesday. He brings a strong, confident, and dynamic presence behind center. Kurland has been committed to the Cougars since June 3rd, 2025.

Sam Vyhlidal - Washington
Vyhlidal will be signing with the Cougars' Apple Cup rival Washington. The two-way standout transfer from Mountainside High School in Oregon signed with the Huskies on Wednesday. At 6'4" 225, Vyhlidal was a nightmare for opposing teams. He saw a lot of time on both sides of the ball during the Lakers championship run this season. With his athleticism, he is sure to have an impact in Seattle sooner rather than later.

Just a year ago, Hudson Kurland and LaMarcus Bell walked off the field at Hillsboro Stadium heartbroken after a tough loss to West Linn in the 2024 state championship. Instead of letting that defeat define them, they used it as fuel. Alongside the arrival of Sam Vyhlidal in 2025, the trio helped turn that pain into purpose, leading Lake Oswego to one of its most dominant seasons in school history.
From the first game, the Lakers played with a sense of unfinished business: their motto "LO48" was more than just a saying. Their offense was balanced and explosive, their defense disciplined, and their leadership unwavering. Week after week they imposed their will on whoever they played, rarely giving opponents a chance to breathe. Kurland's calm command at quarterback, Bell's relentless running style, and Vyhlidal's all-around presence on both sides of the ball set the tone for the entire team. Together they built more than just a championship run; they built a culture of winning rooted in accountability, trust, and pride. As they move on to their next chapters, the standard they set will remain at Lake Oswego.
